Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do individual dental plans from The Dental Care Plus Group (DCPG) have waiting periods?

A. There is no waiting period for preventive services. Waiting periods for basic and major services can be waived if the member was covered by a DCPG group-sponsored plan during a 12 month consecutive period prior to the new plan's effective date. For those who have not had DCPG in the last 12 months, there is no waiting period for preventive services, a 6-month waiting period for basic services and a 12-month waiting period for major services. The start of the waiting period corresponds with the plan’s effective date.

Q. How do I find out the types of services covered by an individual dental plan from DCPG?

Q. How do I find out more about the vision and hearing discount programs included with each dental plan?

A. Every individual dental plan includes access to discounts on vision and hearing services and equipment. Once enrolled in a dental plan from DCPG, access to these discount programs is automatic and does not cost extra. For more information, click here.

Q. Is there a way to find out if my dentist is in-network?

A. Please click here to access our online provider search. You will be able to search for your dentist by name or ZIP code.

Q. What if my dentist isn’t a participating provider?

A. If your dentist does not participate in our networks, we encourage you to fill out our dentist recruitment form here. Then our dedicated provider relations team will contact your dentist and invite him/her to join.

Q. What if I want to see a dentist that isn’t in-network?

A. HMO plan members are required to obtain services from a participating dentist. There is no coverage for services received from a non-participating dentist except in emergency situations outside of the service area. PPO plan members can see any dentist but may pay more out-of-pocket when seeing an out-of-network dentist.

Q. Up to what age will The Dental Care Plus Group cover dependents?

A. This depends on the state in which the contract/policy is issued. In Ohio, dependents are covered until age 19. In Kentucky, dependents are covered until age 25. In Indiana, dependents are covered until age 26. Upon reaching the maximum age, dependents will be removed from the contract/policy on the last day of the month of their birthday. Should they require coverage beyond that, they may purchase their own individual dental benefits plan from The Dental Care Plus Group. Q. How does the annual maximum work with a plan from DCPG?

A. The annual maximum is the maximum dollar DCPG will pay toward the cost of dental care within a specific period of time, typically from January through December. The member is responsible for paying costs exceeding the annual maximum.

Q. Do preventive services count toward the annual maximum?

A. Yes, preventive services do count toward the annual max. See the question above for more information on how the annual max works.

Q. What if my college student lives out of town part of the year?

A. With our HMO plans, students living outside of service area must seek care from a participating dentist (except in emergency situations) when they are home from school. PPO plan members have the ability to visit any dentist but may enjoy cost savings by seeing an in-network provider. To search for a participating dentist, click here.

Q. Does DCPG offer an individual plan that covers orthodontia?

A. Not at this time. However, we continuously work to further refine our plan offerings. If you would like to be notified when new plan designs are available that include orthodontia, please email info@dentalcareplus.com or call 888-253-3279.

Q. Where can I download information about the individual dental plans that are available?

A. Our plan brochure is available for download here. Once downloaded, you can also print the brochure for your reference. The brochure is simply an overview of the available plans. Additional details, including rates, are based on your ZIP code. We encourage you to click on “Get A Quote” in the top navigation bar to view ZIP code specific information. You will be able to compare the plan options and rates to find one that best meets your needs. From there, you can easily and quickly enroll in a plan. Q. Do I have to enroll in a plan online?

A. It is easy and secure to enroll in a DCPG dental plan through this website. However, if you prefer to enroll in a plan through a paper application process, click here, enter the required information then click “Next.” From there, you can view/print an application packet by clicking on the word “Here” underneath the “Enroll Online” button. Or you can contact our individual product consultants at 513-554-3184 or 888-253-3279. They are available to help as well as answer any questions you have.

Q. Does DCPG have a refund policy in case I change my mind about my plan purchase?

A. Each dental benefits plan from DCPG features a 10-day ‘Right to Rescind’ period. This period provides you with the opportunity to fully review your contract/policy. If you are not satisfied, you may cancel within those 10 days and DCPG will refund any dental premium paid by you. Click here for more information.

Q. What is DCPG's cancellation policy?

A. DCPG will permit termination or cancellation of the dental plan you purchased and may refund all or part of the premium you paid under certain limited circumstances. Please click here to read more.

Q. It seems there are no plans available where I live. When will a plan from DCPG be available?
